Dark ruby red core. Intense nose, ripe fruit, rather Pinot-like with a sweet spiciness like clove and pepper, floral notes, yet with some dark fruit aromas like cherry, plum and crushed berries. The palate is dense and concentrated, rather high tannin but just about to melt together, nice fresh fruit flavours of dark berries, cherry and gingerbread spices, integrated oak and a long finish. Potent, will still improve but drinks pretty well today.
