Weingut Brandl – Riesling Kogelberg 1.ÖTW Reserve 2014 – Kamptal

Quite pale and watered colour. Low intensity but good brightness. Very youthful nose. Barley ripe green apple, like crushed apple, some herbal notes. Barely ripe lemon. Quite youthful and restrained at present, but still with good purity. Palate is still slightly lean, I would say. Very elevated acidity. Quite restrained fruit. Rather on the citrusy side with fresh lemon and lime. Not a lot of fruit intensity. Quite light weight, with still medium towards long finish. It has a certain length but it appears like a lot of the 2014 now, a bit lean but should develop a bit more roundness from further ageing.
