Medium deep, ruby-red with a slightly fading rim. The nose is quite intense. Combining, some herbal and floral notes. There is a slight presence of aromatic herbs like mint and sage. The fruit is on the sweeter side, with hints of cassis, red currant and plum. There is a slight oakiness in the background, but predominantly that herb infused fruitiness. The palate has medium weight, a bit more than medium weight I would say. With a good density of fruit, those red and dark berries still with a slightly youthful texture and presence of tannin. Quite long and lingering finish, combining that juicy dark and red berries. Fresh acidity and a lot of spiciness going on in the finish. With some hints of pepper and aromatic herbs, such as mint and sage. I would still call this a fairly youthful wine, it is certainly drinkable, particularly after thirty minutes in a decanter or something in that direction. However, I think this is a wine that has the density and concentration to gain much more complexity over the coming four to six years.
