Red wine with a medium deep ruby red core, not a lot of evolution in terms of colour. The nose is clean and pure, with hints of dark cherry, rather dark than red fruit in terms of style. It has a hint of oak, then I get some spicy notes reminiscent of tobacco, cedar wood. Good grip on the palate here, I think aromatically it started out a bit shy, it needs some air to open up; but the palate has a good grip and concentration. It’s a nice level of extraction here, because we have that presence of tannin, but rather soft; it appears rather fruity with juicy dark fruit, crushed cherry with mild sweet spices like clove, just a hint of wood here. We have a good length as well. Nice and rounded I would say, it’s perfectly drinkable today but it has the density to go on for a few years. Oak is also well integrated; I notice it all along, some discreet hints of vanilla, some roasted notes, but it’s well integrated here. Fine example.

Tasted by the Best Sommelier of the World, Andreas Larsson.
