Red wine with a medium deep core, slightly coloured rim. Quite discreet at first, showing off some red and dark fruity notes. No presence of oak really, more on that red cherry, mild spices. Good grip on the palate; it starts out quite discreetly, but then it expands a little bit on the palate. We still have a quite firm core of tannin here, on the mid-palate and on the finish; at the same time the finish is revealing more of that sweet red cherry fruit. Quite good length, I would talk about medium-bodied in terms of structure. Quite traditional style, certainly a wine which needs aging to open up and to show more complexity. I think though that with some more aeration in a decanter or in the glass, it opens up, and I think it offers a very nice traditional style, combining that ripe cherry fruit with a good acidity. Slightly on the tannic side right now, but again with gastronomy that contains a good dose of protein or fat it’s a pretty well-drinking wine right now.
