Quite a youthful colour here, blue-purple core. Quite deep intensity. Fine nose, quite a modern style. Displaying some roasted oak, with ripe fruit, mostly dark fruit. Such as blackberry, dark cherry and plum. Also with some spicy notes, in the direction of liquorice, anise seed, caraway. Full-bodied, in structure and weight. Quite dense. There is a slightly high level of extract as well. I find this being almost close to ready to drink in terms of roundness. So good grip there on the palate. Still present, but rounded tannins let’s say. Quite warm, ripe fruit there. We feel elevated alcohol, but I think it is in balance thanks to the freshness. Oak was more noticeable on the nose than on the palate. A gentle hint of vanilla and some toasted notes on the finish. Quite juicy and attractive wine in a modern style. Structured with good length and grip. Enjoyable today but should benefit from another few years in the cellar.
