Rhum Neisson 15 Ans d’Age – 1996

Mature colour, indicating aging in oak here, deep golden towards amber, with a slight hint of green at the rim. Intense and warm nose here, with some sugary caramel notes; I get wood here, molasses, caramel, some dry spices, also a hint of tobacco. Good bite on the palate here, it starts out with a quite good attack; it’s high in alcohol, but I think it’s well-kept. On the finish I get more of that sugary with some notes of candied fruit and nuts, with well-integrated oak, and a quite persistent finish.
