Psâgot – Kosher 2014 White

Israel Benjamin Mountains

White  Viognier

Bright with a light towards medium straw colour. Intense nose, good purity of fruit here, quite modern fruit, vibrant. With floral notes here, some notes of violet, citrus and then we have some ripe stone fruit, like yellow plum and apricot. No presence of oak aromatically. Quite anxious palate here, broad and round. It feels more like a warm climate wine, however, I think that the grape variety is well adapted for it. It feels like a Viognier, Roussane style, something in that direction. So that lush, stone fruit as well, covering up that ripeness. I would talk about a balanced acidity here, not really a high acidity, but it still offers a sense of freshness on the finish. Also thanks to a slightly phenolic presence, with hints of lemon zest, grapefruit skin. So a full bodied, warm and lush, aromatic, generously fruity wine, with a medium towards long finish.
