Pierpaolo Pecorari – Kolaus Sauvignon Blanc 2014 – Venezia Giulia

Youthful and bright, with a medium deep straw colour. Very intense nose, quite herbal here with a lot of green notes. Not in a negative way, such as aromatic herbs, some ginger, lemongrass, mint, lime, quite exotic. No oakiness to talk about. Good bite on the palate. Which has medium weight, with a good grip. There is a presence of lemon and lime zest, some of those spicy notes, such as ginger, lemon grass. Very youthful fruit, like apple and melon. However, it does have good flavour intensity. It is quite lingering on the finish, rather long I would say. Good purity and freshness. Still feels very young. Quite unresolved. It should develop a bit more roundness from a further ageing. However, it is certainly offering some pleasure already now if you enjoy it for its fresh and spicy side.
