Very dark and inky colour here, this shows a lot of youth, with a black-purple core. Slightly lighter towards the rim. Rich and expressive nose here. A lot of ripeness, but more on the black-purple fruit such as blackberry, cassis, dark plum. Also with some floral hints of violet, slight smokiness and a hint of new oak as well. Quite tempting, in a modern style. Very nice fruit here, succulent dark berry fruit, with cassis and plum flavours. Well-integrated oak, high concentration here. A lot of density, but I think this wine is really finally combining that ripe dark fruit, with a good level of acidity. It is truly long and lingering. Great persistence and fine integration of oak on the palate. Still youthful with a present tannin, but they are quite nicely grained already. Should obviously soften from some further ageing. I like this very much for its attractive fruit. Warm climate style but nicely vinified. Good restraint on the finish. Sure put this back in the cellar one to two years and from then on it should drink very nicely over the coming ten years. Good.
