Les Frères Couillaud – Château de la Ragotière – Vallet 2012 Muscadet Sevre et Maine

White wine with a slightly developed colour towards light golden, good brightness. Fine nose. More in the direction of discreet and elegant with some stony notes. Slightly mineral on the nose. With barely ripe stone fruit, citrus. Slight hint of yeast or fresh butter, almond. Good brightness on the palate here. This sits in the medium-body category, but it is a good flavour intensity here. More discreet style again, not very aromatic. Elegant hints of green apple and pear, with those citrus flavours. A good bite, really salivating on the palate with that mineral acidity sensation. Long finish as well. Really well-made in a pure discreet style. Very gastronomic thanks to its youthful freshness. Certainly a potential for further development.
