The colour is dense here, but it has lost its blue-purple so it shows some evolution. Dark ruby with a lighter rim. The nose is also showing some complexity and some aged aromas. There is a hint of leather, spice box. The fruit seems quite ripe here, we have really like dark plum, almost prune, almost ripe fruit character and a lot of dark berries. Full-bodied palate here, good grip with some new oak emerging on the palate. Some roasted flavours with vanilla, prune and dark berries. Quite powerful style. Starting to round off the edges I would say. I got the impression that this would be quite tannic but there is no harsh sensation on the palate. The tannins are quite powdery today. It has a good length. Really persistent on the palate. With juicy and modern dark fruit. So a quite powerful wine, but I think it has a few years of maturity now and it should continue to develop nicely and develop more nuance and complexity.
