A red wine with a quite low, developed colour, with a light ruby core and orange rim. Intense nose here, good purity; it’s a traditional style but still with pure fruit, nice perfume of red berries, a hint of chocolate praline, tobacco. There’s really layers here, fine spices and a lot of things going on. Very nice palate, good grip here. I think this is a wine that nicely combines very juicy freshly squeezed raspberries, red cherries with mild spices, almost like a hint of gingerbread. Still quite bold in terms of a dense texture with grainy tannin – they’re very present, but they’re polished. Then a very very long finish with a really refined spiciness and that fruitiness appearing a bit sweeter. A really fine wine, doubtlessly with the structure to age for a long time, however imbibing this right now – I would just suggest to have this with a nice pasta with cèpe mushrooms.
