La Bioca – Zabaldà 2013 – Barbera d’Alba

Medium to deep ruby red colour, still with a youthful flush of purple. Fresh nose, with rather dark fruity aromas of plum, dark berries, some spiciness almost like a hint of mint, and some sweet spices here. Nice palate, with a good density of fruit, combining those ripe dark berries with a good level of acidity. Still the tannins are quite soft, but they give a nice lift to the palate. On the finish, which is pretty long, we have some spicy notes of clove, ginger, orange peel. Very attractive and juicy style with a good drinkability already now. Delicious, very friendly and very charming.
