Red wine with a moderately intense colour, there is a hint of evolution there, medium deep ruby-red. Fine nose, quite elegant with a certain maturity, displaying some earthy notes, some tobacco, cedar wood, with a fruitiness that leans in the direction of Cabernet, Merlot. So some blackcurrant, plum, with those fine woody and tobacco notes. Not really any oak noticeably, but there is a slight evolution and fine spiciness emerging with age. Good bite on the palate. Classically dry. I would say quite a traditional style, which is built in a fairly austere way. Not in the negative sense, we still have this backbone of grippy tannin. There is no sweetness there, so built more in a Boudreaux like style, with high acidity, pronounced tannin. There is quite an elegant fruit there. The palate offers a nice mouthful. Quite ridged quite a structured wine, with juicy red currant, cassis, plum notes with those spiced tobacco notes on the finish. That last for a quite long persistence. So a fine wine that has reached a drinkability today. With this structure, I think it is something that will continue to develop.

Tasted by the Best Sommelier of the World, Andreas Larsson.
