Gere Attila Winery – Attila Cuvée 2009 – Villányi tasted by the Best Sommelier in the World Andreas Larsson.
Sweet Fruit, Spiciness, Tannin Finish

Deep ruby red core, slightly rusty rim. Starts out a bit shy on the nose, needs a hint of air to open up. It has a certain evolution here, I get some notes of leather, almost like meat; dark fruit, rather plum, sweet plum, with a lot of spiciness. The palate is offering quite ripe fruit here; we have noticeable alcohol, but the extract is still pretty much on that backward, slightly firm style. Oak is not noticeable, but the finish is still dominated by tannins, so it feels like a very ripe and warm wine with a sweet fruit character. Good length, but still a bit austere and backwards, and I certainly think this would need some more time to shed those tannins.
