Fitapreta – Sexy Grande Reserva Cuvée Explosion d’Amour 2013 – Alentejano

Very youthful dark and inky colour. Same goes for the nose. A plethora of violet scented black fruit here, with notes of cassis, blackberry and sweet plum. No indication of oak, rather a very fruity expression. The palate is certainly dense and modern, with high weight, high concentration. Nicely rounded, there is a fine tannin in the background. Really modern style, with fine integration of oak. There is a gentle spiciness, giving a lift to that violet scented dark fruit, lovely blackberry, cassis flavours with a fairly long, warm and caressing finish. Still very youthful indeed. It should develop more complexity and harmony in the coming two to three years, and then be kept for up to ten years. I have no clue what it is, but I really like it.
