Very inky colour here, opaque black-purple. The nose is quite intense. Slightly funky here, with some animal, spicy, barnyardy notes, some leather and layers of very dark fruit, inky blackberry, cassis. The palate has tremendous concentration, very dense. Very very high concentration. Combining that really ripe, lushes dark fruit, but a very very high level of tannin as well, appearing quite angular at present on the palate. Very dense and very long. But at present it is more dominated by extract and tannin than of fruit. And also some of those slightly leathery, barnyardy notes adding a slight rustic touch to this. It should definitely be put back in the cellar for a few years.
