Some evolution on the colour already, ruby red, slightly-tawny towards the rim. Very intense nose, quite meaty with sweet fruit, some notes of confiture, prune, tobacco and a lot of fine spices. Very intense with a certain evolution and complexity. Nicely rounded palate, no hard edges, already quite stable in terms of fruitiness, it’s round and lush and opulent. Tannins are finely integrated. No noticeable new oak. Quite multilayered with fine spices, those tobacco notes all along. It’s a rather sweet style but I find the acidity well-balanced all along. Warm and ripe but not a blockbuster by any means, it’s still more what I would call a traditional style, with a good dash of complexity. I love the sweet fruit and the long complex finish. Very nice result in a traditional Southern French style. C’est bon ça!
