Red wine with a quite dense colour core, dark ruby red; slightly lighter at the rim. Generous nose with ripe dark fruit; there’s some wood there, some slightly roasted notes, a hint of smoke, sweet spices, dark plum and dark berry. It has a well-built palate, it’s rather full, and I think there’s great extraction here; we have a good texture, very fine tannin adding freshness, well-preserved acidity, but the fruit is dominating here, with a slight spiciness, with peppery notes, clove; very digest I would say. Not really any presence of new oak. Well balanced, with juicy attractive fruit. A hint of complexity already, there’s some fine layers of spice. Finish is still youthful, with a good sense of freshness. A wine that should still develop for another 4-5-6 years, but in my mind drinks very well right now too
