Domaine de Maouhum – 1995 – Bas Armagnac

Spirit with a medium, I would say deep golden towards light amber, still with a certain age obviously, slightly green on the rim. Fine nose here, I think this one still has a slightly youthfulness and sweetness at first; like candid fruit, orange peel and honey. But then there is a wealth of spicy and woody notes; like cedar wood, tobacco and fine spices, vanilla. Flavour-wise I think this one has reached this stage where the wood really starts to integrate well. It is more concealed now and I think I have a lot of layers there of candid fruit, of honey, hazelnut and nougat. Long and warm finish, well integrated alcohol, good maturity, with a certain complexity.
