White Chardonnay, Viognier
White wine with a quite youthful colour, pale straw with a watery rim. Pure nose, very intense; floral notes, some orange blossom, chamomile, we have yellow fruit, yellow plum. Almost a hint of sweetness, so quite high ripeness, it is reminiscent of Viognier in terms of aromatic expression; lush and bold. Palate is quite full, it has a rich and unctuous texture, showing off that yellow fruitiness. I didn’t get a lot of oak on the nose, I get more oak on the palate; some slightly roasted notes. It feels like a quite warm and ripe style, yet nicely balanced by a good freshness on the finish. Medium-high acidity, rather a wine which builds on that luscious fruit. I think the oak is well-integrated; it’s still youthful, it’s still noticeable, but the wine has a quite rich structure, it has a good length, so I think that this is something that could develop over 2 to 3 years, and I would prefer to wait a little bit more for the oak to integrate on the palate. Interesting, opulent rich fruity style.
