Medium towards deep ruby core, still youthful with a good flash of purple. Quite intense nose, showing off some mineral notes, some earthy notes. Elegant wild fruit, wild berries, strawberry, black berry. Quite layered, good depth, a lot of things going on in there; fine spices and ginger and ripe apricot as well, and also with a touch of meatiness. There’s some oak there but it’s well concealed beneath those layers of delicious wild berry fruit. Hmmmm! Really enticing palate, once again I think this keeps within that medium-bodied frame, but with an excellent purity of flavor, layers of those wild berries, with fine spices. Integrated tannins, discrete wood. Very elegant. Long and persistent, really juicy and attractive fruit, very good length, persistent on the finish, good harmony. There’s a good depth of complexity here as well. A wine I find really juicy and attractive right now, but this is doubtlessly a wine that will develop a lot more complexity over the coming years. If you can put it away, you should, but it’s bloody delicious now. Really fine example of the complexity of Pinot Noir.
