Dense ruby red core here, some evolution on the rim, a slight hint of tawny. Pure nose, generous with notes of sweet plum, red berries, some herbal and spicy notes, leather; no noticeable oak. Classically dry palate, still with a tannic presence here, high acidity; but quite elegant in terms of fruit here, round soft plum with some peppery herbal notes, a hint of leather, a very gentle hint of oak here, a touch of vanilla. In terms of structure it’s quite rich, quite dense here with both fruitiness and extract. It has a long finish. I would still call this wine slightly on the young side, I’m sure this would need another one to two years in a cellar to shed those last dry tannins; but overall quite well-made in a traditional style.

Tasted by the Best Sommelier of the World, Andreas Larsson.
