White wine with a quite pale colour, medium-deep straw; still with a nice brightness. Excellent intensity on the nose here, excellent purity as well, combining intensity and purity. I get a wealth of quite tropical fruit notes here like grapes, fresh pineapple. There’s a hint of oak, finely toasted but well-hidden beneath that wealth of fruit. There’s also some hints of herbal and floral components, like elderflower with some grassy notes. I get a clear indication of Sauvignon here, but very ripe Sauvignon I would say. Excellent bite on the palate, good concentration, good density. I think this is a style of white that manages to combine that high level of concentration; yet it’s bone-dry, so we get a good deal of acidity, of mouthwatering freshness. Quite viscous in terms of texture, rounded, with that integration of oak adding just a slight hint of roundness, a touch of vanilla. Excellent drinkability today. I think it’s a wine doubtlessly with the structure and density to go on for many years, but I really like this now, combining the freshness and the power. A very pretty wine.
