Very dark colour here, almost opaque at the core, with a dark ruby nuance. Intense and ripe nose displaying a lot of dark berry notes, with cassis and plum, some toasted oak, some notes of leather. Quite modern and ripe style. High concentration on the palate, really concentrated here with well distributed tannin. I would say it has a lot of extract, but today this is not appearing harsh or tannic in any way. It adds a lot of mouthfeel. It is a good combination of dark concentrated fruit; I get juicy blackberry, cassis, some coco powder, fine spices. Really good material here. It is a very long finish it really is getting a boost from the concentration – it keeps lingering. I find this very attractive in a modern style and yet with a good balance of oak extraction and so forth. I would happily indulge already today, as you have that nice mouthful of juicy dark fruit; however it is certainly a wine that will continue to develop and gain more nuance and complexity with age.
