Red wine with a very deep core, and an intense ruby-red. Very nice nose there displaying lots of intensity, with floral hints, reminiscent of violet. Really dark inky fruit there, like sweet blackberry, plum. Some mineral notes as well, some fine hint of smoke, almost a touch of black truffle as well. Excellent concentration on the palate, really finely tuned because you have that wealth, that plethora of ripe dark fruit. But it is a good extraction, a high level of extraction. Really grainy, almost powdery tannins there, still backed up by vital freshness. Really long powerful and persistence. I think it is starting to open up in terms of you get a little more of those finely spiced layers, hints of damp tobacco. Truly long lingering finish. Excellent. I mean I really like this for its youthful power and that concentration of fruit today, but doubtless a wine that will develop for ten, fifteen or twenty years. Good!
