Château Corbin Michotte – 2012 – Saint Emilion Grand Cru

Red wine with a quite young deep ruby-red colour. Fresh nose here, offering some herbal notes, red and dark fruit, sweet plum, a hint of vanilla. Quite classic structure I would say, medium weight with a high acidity, youthful tannin; rather on the red fruity side with some notes of sweet plum, herbal spiciness, high acidity and a quite long finish. It’s a wine that is still in a youthful stage but there’s no hardness in it, so I think it’s pretty open and attractive to drink; however it’s certainly a style that would gain a bit more roundness and expression from further aging, so I would like to put it back in my cellar for another few years.
