Château Cap De Faugères – 2011- Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux

Red wine with a slightly developed colour here; medium deep, ruby-red a bit denser at the core. Fine nose, displaying quite ripe fruit there – a mix of red and dark berries, some notes of blackberry, plum, with a fine oak in the background, some notes of vanilla spices. It seems it is starting to open up and to display a little bit more complexity, beyond that primary fruit. Good gripe on the palate, really nice concentration here. Concentration of fruit balanced by really vibrant acidity. Nice level of extraction as well, there is wealth of fine tannin in the background. Plenty of juice and attractive fruit there. Nice concentration of fruit. Long lingering finish. Fine potential, but at the same time I would say it offers excellent drinkability today.
