Château Bouscaut 2014 Red

Pessac Leognan Cru Classé de Graves

Red

Very deep and inky colour, black-purple core. Good purity on the nose, suggesting a high ripeness here. Rather on that black inky fruity side, with hints of blackberry and cassis. Slight spiciness, with anise seed, mint. There is really no noticeable oak. Also good purity here. Slight hint of stoniness or minerality I would say. Nice palate here. High concentration, high extract. Both in terms of acidity and tannin, which is quite pronounced on the palate. There is still nothing hard or edgy here. I think it already feels quite like the components are well-assembled. It is obviously still a very youthful wine, so it should continue to develop complexity and nuance. I find it quite approachable and enjoyable already. Attractive dark fruit, good levels of freshness. Gentle hint of oak on the palate. Long, lingering finish, with a great deal of ripe fruit and indication of freshness. To finish it off, a slight dash of that purity and minerality as well. A fine wine indeed.
