Quite a deep colour here, medium deep golden, with quite fine mousse indicating some maturity. Intense nose; ripe, expressive, some spicy notes, nutty, with hints of almond paste, almost like nougat. The fruitiness is really ripe more almost like windfall, really ripe yellow pear, plum. Spicy notes of saffron. Quite lush texture on the palate, rather full bodied style with ample fruit. Well underlined by a quite distinct acidity, giving it a good lift to the fruitiness there. Quite intense flavours there, with the ripe pear, yellow fruit. Towards the finish I get more of that nuttiness, spiciness, well underlined again by the mousse, nice integrated creaminess. Long rather powerful finish. A wine I would call very vinous, a vinous style of Champagne. Probably with a lot of Pinot in the blend, adding weight, but really well-balanced for what it is. For all lovers of that more, I would say small grower, powerful styles. It is well balanced, and well made. It offers a lot of pleasure today, a good slight maturity and complexity already.
