A champagne with a medium deep golden colour, indicating a certain age; quite fine, quite tiny bubbles. There’s certainly some evolution on the nose here, quite creamy aromas like pastry, like croissant, bread, butter; with rather ripe fruit here, I get some ripe yellow pear, some nutty notes. On the palate it’s quite broad; I’d say this to me tastes more like Pinot or a classic blend. There’s more red fruity aromas in here like raspberry, red berries, pear, citrus. Well-balanced bubbles here, giving a creamy texture. Acidity in itself is milder, we still have freshness but it’s slightly milder; it feels like a quite ripe style, also with a certain evolution and maturity. So in all it’s a complex champagne with a good drinkability today in a quite broad and ripe style, yet well balanced with a nice creaminess and good weight.
