Medium deep straw colour, nothing green so it appears to have a certain maturity with a quite fine mousse. The nose is quite rich and expressive appearing more broad and ripe style with a good proportion of Pinot in my mind with ripe pear, plum and red berry notes. The palate appears full bodied, quite full and vigorous, however it is well balanced, because it is a quite dry style, maybe extra brut with well-defined freshness there, acidity giving it a lift. Flavour wise in my mind, once again a good proportion of Pinot in there, yet with the vital freshness of Chardonnay. A bit more maturity on the palate. I get some of those autolytic notes from the lees, adding a certain complexity. Quite a full bodied style with a good length. So to sum it up in my mind: more of a small grower style, rich, full bodied, and generous. Finely balanced to drink today.
