Cecchi – Riserva di Famiglia 2011 – Chianti Classico

Red wine with a quite intense deep colour, still impenetrable at the core, so dark ruby. Quite intense nose as well, with a high ripeness of fruit; this one is rather on the dark fruity side, with dark cherry, plum, cassis. There’s a hint of oak there. Good stuffing in this one, it has a good volume, good weight; still I would say that the texture is quite rounded, with quite powdery tannin. Quite wealthy dark fruit here; a mild spiciness. Really persistent actually, it keeps lingering. I find it pretty attractive already now, as it has this rounded texture with those dark juicy cherries, but it’s certainly a wine that will gain more complexity from another few years in the cellar. A nice result.
