Cavit – Maso Cervara 2010 – Teroldego Rotaliano

Rather youthful colour, quite black-purple centre, slightly lighter rim. Pure nose, showing some hints of butterscotch, vanilla, gentle wood, and sweet red berries. Palate has medium weight, quite integrated tannin now, there’s a good core of very finely grained tannins, adding freshness. I get some flavours of vanilla, sweet red plum, crushed berries. No noticeable oak. Very persistent on the palate, good length, good grip. A wine that has a good drinkability right now despite the tannic presence, and certainly a wine that has the structure to be aged for another few years in a cool cellar.
