Quite deep colour here, rather inky core, with some purple and black hints, ruby rim. Fine nose here showing good purity. Still quite youthful fruit, even though I think it has a few years to it. Hint of vanilla and oak, but well underlined by all this massive dark fruit. Going in the direction of really ripe dark berries, with cassis, dark cherry. Some finely spicy and meaty notes as well. Certainly full-bodied, a lot of stuffing. Not the most bold. I think this has a good, well-retained freshness. Tannins are integrated and quite finely grained in the background. There is a mix of red and dark berries flavour wise, with cassis and fresh red cherry. Just a fine hint of spiciness with gently roasted notes from the oak, slight hint of vanilla. But it does have a good length. I think it is nicely restrained in terms of freshness and showing ripe, but not overripe fruit. It has a long finish. I think it is starting to mature now, showing a bit more complexity, quite a lot of layers on the finish. A very attractive wine, with a good drinkability, yet with the potential for quite a few more years.
