Red wine with a very deep colour, rather black or black at the core. High viscosity colouring the glass really. The nose is quite intense here, it is certainly displaying a lot of ripeness, high degree of ripeness here with inky, dark fruit, showing off like cassis, blackberries, dark plum, there is also a fair degree of toasted oak in the background, some spicy notes and a hint of vanilla. Some spicy notes shining through there. I think it is has a certain maturity to it, showing off some more layers than the primary fruit. Very high concentration the palate. Incredibly dense, I would say that this is a wine that probably is just about to open up there. So it has this inky core of dark plum, blackberry, cassis. There is a fair deal of tannin as well, but also tannins that start to integrate fully now, adding a lot of length, because it is really persistent keeps lingering. On the finish there is that wealth of sweet dark fruit, with the fine spiciness, some floral notes, chocolate. Really high octane wine. I still probably think that this will be better in a few years, as it has that massive power and concentration and it would just continue to gain more nuance from further aging. A highly potent wine none of the less.
