Really dark and inky colour here, with a blue-purple core, almost black. Generous nose here, much more modern style with generous amount of oak. However, good oak, I don’t think it is woody it is rather more vanilla scented, some roasted notes. Plenty of ripe dark fruit in there. Nice density on the palate here, plenty of dark fruit, blackberry, cassis. It is quite powdery tanning like coco powder. Rich concentration in terms of fruitiness. I think the oak was pretty evident on the nose, but less on the palate. The fruit is dominating, underlined by some fine notes of spices like anise seed, clove. Rather concentrated with anxious fruit, balanced acidity. It certainly has length, it keeps going on for a while, with some meaty peppery notes on the finish. Quite attractive, still very youthful. It should definitely gain more complexity from further aging, but I would happily drink it already today.

Tasted by the Best Sommelier of the World, Andreas Larsson.
