Red wine with a fairly deep core, blue purple, ruby towards the rim. Pure nose showing off a lot of dark fruitiness here; dark plum, dark cherry. There’s some dry spices in there as well, some notes of licorice. There’s some oak here but I feel it’s well integrated, not too present. Quite ripe, it feels rather sunny and warm in style. I like the texture here, because it’s a full-bodied wine, with a good density of fruit. We have a lot of extract as well, but quite grainy, quite chocolate powdery tannin here, adding freshness. We also have a well-kept acidity. In terms of ripeness it’s quite warm, we have at least 14° in alcohol but it doesn’t disturb me, I think it’s well-integrated. Some of that sweet spiciness on the finish like vanilla, clove, dark cherry plum. Long finish, it keeps going on there. I think it’s a wine with a good harmony, well-made in that warm rich quite modern style, but with nicely integrated oak and nicely integrated tannin. I’d happily drink it today.
