Moderate colour intensity. It has gotten some age and maturity. Nothing blue or not even red left in there. Rather a tawny nuance, with a slightly rusty rim. Very pretty nose. Harmonious and complex. Not one element dominating, so a fine combination of sweet fruit, some floral notes, rose petal with chocolate, dried cherry, tobacco and a lot fine spiciness. Quite intriguing and inviting. Good grip on the palate, quite full. Appearing slightly younger on the palate than on the nose. Still however, with good harmony, good evolution. There is still a tannic presence, but rather grainy tannin. Nice level of freshness, backed up by that sweet fruit, those dried cherries. A lot of dark chocolate flavours. There is a slight hint of oak present on the palate, I did not find on the nose. Really good harmony. Powerful and rich with a long finish. I would call this a wine that is just about ready to drink. But doubtlessly with this structure and complexity this is a wine that will go on for a very long time. Really good. All I need is a truffle risotto.
