Medium towards deep ruby-red colour. Still with a purple, youthful hue. Fine nose. There is a fine toastiness here, with some roasted coffee bean, fine oak. Some dried spices, leather and a mix of red and dark berries, with red and blackcurrant, plum. Some ripe herbs; sage and mint. Good grip on the palate. Quite full here, with a good level of extract. Fine and grainy tannin, giving a good lift. Contributing to a really long finish. I like the toastiness here. Elegant oak with juicy fruit, fresh currant and plum notes, with that slight herbal spiciness, without being green on the taste. It just adds another dimensional spiciness. Good freshness. Quite classic style with fine substance. Long lingering finish. I would say fairly approachable today but it should certainly gain a lot over the coming ten years.

Tasted by the Best Sommelier of the World, Andreas Larsson.
